Pole Fusion Festival 2017

The Pole Fusion Festival is the first festival in Belgium dedicated to pole dance as a performing art. Its goal is to promote creativity in pole dance and the use of the pole in a more “out of the box” artistic context. Sarahcademy invites you to discover this new world through 3 different shows:

The first day of the festival (Friday 1/12) kicks off at 8pm with guest performances. This show will feature guest pole/dance/aerial/performance artists who are experimenting with the concept of fusion of the disciplines.

The second show will be performed twice (Saturday 2/12 and Sunday 3/12) and presents the Sarahcademy team. After the big success of Searching For Love in 2014, Beyond the Limit in 2015 and Inhuman in 2016 Sarahcademy is presenting a new collective creation inspired by the theme of Surrealism. More than 20 dancers will be on stage to show the audience their solo, duo and group choreographies. All the performances are integrated into one unprecedented show, under the artistic direction of Sarah Cavenaile. Acrobatics but also dance, aerials and theatre will be on the program, to offer the audience an unforgettable and emotional evening.

The third show will take place on the last day of the festival (Sunday 13/12) at 3pm. The BE Pole Connection is a one hour show with group performances created by different pole schools. Its goal is to unify the pole dance community and offer its dancers a common stage where they can meet, share their passion and express themselves around the concept of ‘fusion’.

During this edition of the PFF, the foyer of the Maison des Cultures et de la Cohésion Sociale (MCCS) will be the background of surrealistic surprising acts and happenings before the pole shows! On the program: chinese pole, silk, theatrical improvisation, experiments, contemporary dance... There will be also some workshops to let the audience get to know better the art of pole dance.
